“Look what you’re doing to me,” Bell replied to the enthusiastic response from the crowd. “You’re making me feel all sultry and seductive.”. That fitness level certainly paid dividends in concert. Bell was amazingly energetic throughout the evening, flying through dance moves that borrowed from the disco club and the ballet studio. He also sounded strong at the microphone, handling the high notes on “Blue Savannah” and difficult passages on “Breath of Life” with apparent ease.

A: The rehearsal was amazing. It was so inspiring. Then the show itself — just to be onstage at the Fillmore and signing a song with Bob Weir. That was kind of one of those things that was retroactively on my bucket list. It wasn’t on my bucket list before. But, having done it, I feel I can retroactively put it on my bucket list and consider it accomplished. Q: It was such a treat to get to attend the rehearsal and see all of you in action behind the scenes. I was just amazed at how mellow and laid back the vibe was at the rehearsal. I’m guessing that’s not the case with every rock ‘n’ roll rehearsal.

But the biggest problem for me was that it got a little … boring. The Team Stage numbers were almost all contemporary and with the exception of those by one or two particular choreographers, the numbers all seemed similar and only showed which Team Street dancers were having a difficult time handling contemporary. In the same way, the Team Street numbers only showed how much the average viewers doesn’t know about hip-hop and other street dancers, and again, with the exception of numbers by one or two choreographers, the dancers often seemed to be doing the same thing, over and over. However, I must add that the Team Street dances were more exciting.
