The chapter had been looking for a local service project when it got word of the El Cerrito work parties and 10 students showed up on short notice to take part in work at the library, said teacher and chapter adviser Nicole Raasch. The students are preparing for a trip to do community service in England, Ireland and Wales. The event at the Community Center, 7007 Moeser Lane, will feature the Huey White Show Band and DJ Chuck providing big band era entertainment. There will also be appetizers, raffle prizes and historical display at the event hosted by the Open House Senior Center and the El Cerrito Historical Society.
